Ardmore Flying School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the NZ Ministry of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from Ardmore Flying School or from the NZ Ministry of Educations website at www.minedu.govt.nz/goto/international
Under Ministry of Education Guidelines, because students are not preferential creditors for purposes of provider liquidation or receivership, Ardmore Flying School operates a static trust meeting the requirements of the NZ Qualifications Authority. The Ardmore Flying School Static Trust Account protects any part of the fee that has been paid for tuition and is not subsequently delivered. This trust account is managed by an independent trustee and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of NZ (ICANZ) and is at no time less that the Ardmore Flying School Limited maximum liability amount as certified by the trustee in his quarterly attestation certificates.
An enrolled student is not liable for course theory fees until the eighth day of the course and consequently any student may, without penalty, withdraw from such a course in its first seven days. This arrangement satisfies the requirements of section 236A of the Education Act 1989 and its amendments. If an applicant wishes to withdraw for any reason after the first seven days of the course, Ardmore Flying School Ltd will partially refund (within 30 days) any advance payments made on behalf of the applicant and advise the NZ Immigration Authorities of the Students withdrawal and possible breach of their Student Visa Privileges.

An applicant may cancel without penalty or obligation. If an applicant wishes to cancel and withdraw for any reason after beginning the course of instruction, Ardmore Flying School Ltd will refund, within 30 days of cancellation, advance payments made on behalf of the applicant. The refund amount (prorated at established hourly rates) will be determined by deducting the number of hours of instruction actually completed from the total number of instructional hours in the course.
Refunds for the course and flying content within our promotional packages will be exempt the promotional bonus or allowable discount.
Where a student is a NZ Citizen or NZ Permanent Resident and has been accepted for a course of study with the assistance of a NZ Government approved student loan and subsequently fails to complete the course, then the balance of undrawn funds will be repaid to the NZ Inland Revenue Department.

Most students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand unless they are:
- A resident or citizen of Australia; or
- A national of the United Kingdom in New Zealand; or
If you do not belong to one of these special categories and you receive medical treatment during your visit, you will be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Full details on entitlements to publicly-funded health services are available through the Ministry of Health, and can be viewed on their website at www.moh.govt.nz. It is a government requirement that you have insurance that will cover the cost of medical treatment in New Zealand for the duration of your stay in New Zealand and that you obtain insurance to cover your travel to and from New Zealand.
Ardmore Flying School recommends Southern Cross Healthcare and is able to assist you in completing the necessary documentation. The current premium for an individual policy is NZ$599 per annum.

Ardmore Flying School has a requirement that all overseas students arrive 4 days prior to the start of their course. To facilitate rest after your extended travel we will organise your collection from the Auckland International Airport and you will be delivered directly to the Flying School. During this initial 4-day period, students will be introduced to their supervisor, our office staff and other instructors and students. You will be made familiar with Ardmore Airport and it's operational procedures. We will assist you to open a bank account in Papakura and organise the purchase of your aeronautical equipment, maps and CAA stationary. At this time we will discuss any personal needs you may have and your training requirements.
