Mike Newman | Chief Executive Officer

A love for flying has brought Mike to the helm of Ardmore Flying School. Mike is passionate about training tomorrow’s pilots and what better way to do it that with one of New Zealand’s largest flying schools. When he’s not making important strategic decisions to keep Ardmore Flying School as an industry leader, he’s off flying himself. Mike’s passion for producing tomorrow’s pilots keeps Ardmore Flying School’s commitment to producing high quality graduates in a fun and stimulating environment.

Ian McLeary | Financial Manager

Ian is great with numbers who is armed with a Bachelor of Commerce/Arts. With 40 years of commercial management experience he helps keep Ardmore Flying School moving forward. When he’s not juggling the accounts or sorting out student loans, Ian loves the outdoors, especially tramping, fishing and canoeing.  All of this makes Ian a valuable asset to Ardmore Flying School and the student body.

Warren Sattler | Chief Flying Instructor

With more than 30,000 hours of flight instruction experience, Warren is a leader in the flight instruction industry. As an A Cat Instructor, his passion for flight instruction is legendary and benefits all Ardmore Flying School’s students. Combined with the commitment and dedication Warren gives to the school, Ardmore Flying School provides professional delivery of quality training.

John Kenyon | Deputy Chief Flying Instructor

John brings 40 years of flying experience to Ardmore Flying School and is responsible for the management of the Instrument Flying program. A lawyer in his past life means his sharp mind challenges students through their final part of their pilot training. He also conducts licence renewals and conversions for experienced pilots who return to the school.  John’s passion for working with students help them reach their fullest potential is reflected in the quality of students whom graduate from Ardmore Flying School.

Omais Farooqui | Ground Course Co-Ordinator

Omais holds a Commercial Pilot License and a B-Cat Instructor Rating with over 1250 flying hours. This busy instructor loves the culture and the friendly atmosphere at Ardmore Flying School which makes his job as the Ground Course Co-ordinator easy when teaching students and mentoring younger instructors. When he’s not busy organizing everyone else, he loves to travel and expand his mind by reading. But when he’s on the job, his organization skills ensure the smooth running of the courses for the students to get them flying sooner.

Liz Hardy | Enrolments and Marketing Co-Ordinator

Liz is a wealth of knowledge assisting our domestic and international students during their training at Ardmore Flying School. When she’s not busy answering queries, Liz also concentrates on creating a student friendly environment to learn. Utilising her background in Marketing and Project Management, much of her work can also be seen in print and heard on the radio.  But if she’s not in the office, Liz can be found at various events with fellow instructors showcasing what the next generation of pilots need to do to start their aviation adventure.
